Farming is hard work, but very rewarding!
Our limited growing season and unpredictable weather patterns create unique challenges for farmers at our latitude. As a result, we have to be flexible and innovative in our gardening practices. Taking chances and trying new things is key to the learning process. For example, we've seen surprising results from crops like melons in hot, dry summers where we would normally have had only marginal success with those crops.
Harvesting, eating and sharing the fruit of our labor (and of the richness of the soil) is incredibly satisfying, as any longtime gardener or farmer would know. It makes it all worthwhile!
